We are proud to announce a major investment we are making in the New South Wales cybersecurity and digital economy as well as strengthening Australia’s sovereign cybersecurity capability.

Purpose-built for cybersecurity and government sovereign support.

Macquarie’s Sovereign Cyber Security Centre of Excellence tightly integrates the latest in physical and virtual infrastructure, leading technology platforms, with highly trained and cleared Security Engineers.

Housed in our new Intellicentre 3 (IC3) Super West data centre at our Macquarie Park Campus, the Centre of Excellence will provide a truly sovereign solution to the growing cyber security threats facing the Australian government and businesses.

According to David Tudehope, Macquarie Technology Group’s Chief Executive, “NSW’s Digital economy is rapidly growing, and this project will create world-class infrastructure and valuable long-term jobs in the digital and cyber security sector.

In welcoming the investment, Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said the Centre of Excellence, to be located within the Macquarie Park Innovation District, would create immediate jobs and deliver on significant opportunities to grow NSW’s workforce of cybersecurity experts into the future.

It’s a timely investment for NSW and the rest of Australia, with the threat landscape facing Australia rapidly increasing, fueled by the growth of our digital economy and more financially backing and motivation for threat actors. Our investment has been welcomed and supported by the NSW Government as a key component of their Cyber Security Strategy.

As the NSW Minister for Digital and Customer Service Victor Dominello said, “This project will create valuable long-term jobs in the digital and cyber security sector and deliver sovereign data centres in NSW, supporting our ambition of making NSW the cybersecurity capital of the Southern Hemisphere.
