Head of Business Development, NSW Government Angela Anderson said; ”Macquarie Government is excited to offer our insights into the particular needs and experiences of government agencies making the transition to cloud, to accelerate the digital transformation of the NSW public sector.
“We are proud our skills in cloud have been recognised by the Department of Finances, Services and Innovation,“ Ms Anderson said.
“The new online procurement platform, buy.nsw is an important initiative in further transforming the NSW Government’s use of technology.
“It will take away much of the pain and uncertainty for agencies trying to select the right technology partners.
“Creating a level playing field for ICT service providers – where the features and pricing of their offering are presented in one place, in one format, in a clear and consistent manner – empowers buying agencies to make good decisions,” Ms Anderson said.
NSW Government Chief Information and Digital Officer Greg Wells welcomed Macquarie Government’s involvement in the buy.nsw marketplace.
“buy.nsw will offer a vibrant and competitive marketplace for agencies, allowing them to choose from local providers represented by Macquarie Government, as well as international hyper-scalers to match cloud services to their individual needs,” Mr Wells said.
The marketplace will mean agencies will be able to more easily make informed decisions, matching services with their needs, and put together an ICT environment that is flexible, adaptable and efficient. will also boost opportunities for Australian businesses by allowing agencies to become better-informed buyers, without needing intermediaries to help navigate the complexity of differently presented services,” Ms Anderson said.
