Macquarie Government recognised.

Macquarie Government was recognised for developing an innovative cyber-security email service, and their subsequent sales success into the Australian Government space.

Eric Hoh, Senior Vice President APAC, FireEye said, “We continue to see high demand for as-a-service models for advanced cyber across State and Federal Government. Macquarie Government have done an outstanding job of developing a unique service offering that combines award-winning FireEye Email Security and Macquarie Government Managed Services to protect customers, people, data and assets, while reducing the business risk of unauthorised access.”

Australian government and state agencies vary greatly in size and resources. Smaller agencies are constrained by budget or human resources to deploy and maintain adequate cyber security technologies.

“I am delighted we can offer cyber security solutions that are tailored for Australian government needs and improve the overall cyber security posture of Australian governments.”

Macquarie Government Managing Director Aidan Tudehope

Collaboration to tackle increasing cyber threats.

As the sophistication, type and frequency of cyber threats increase, smaller agencies often struggle to maintain adequate cyber measures. These agencies can be ‘weak links’ that permit cyber intrusions that cascade into wider impacts as other agencies’ systems are compromised.
Macquarie Government collaborated with FireEye to offer the email security service based upon FireEye’s Dynamic Malware Analysis product. The service design was shaped by the following key principles:

• Sharing of anonymised threat intelligence across a group of government entities.
• Offering the service as a subscription so upfront capital costs where amortised over time and shared by participating agencies. This allows smaller agencies to deploy cyber security technologies that were previously unaffordable.
